What is DesiPage?
DesiPage.com is an Internet-based networking station for South Asian-American professionals, businesses, organizations, student associations and the general public. We want to see DesiPage eventually play a role in the life of any and every person with South Asian background in North America.

Yes, there are already so many South Asian online communities out there, but they have not maintained a professional atmosphere that is needed for South Asians to excel. There are so many organizations looking for a way to get heard. There are so many talented individuals that could make a big difference in the world if we could only find them. That’s why DesiPage is here… to make a difference in the world.

Who is running DesiPage.com?
DesiPage.com (under Desi Inc Limited) was founded and created by a group of young individuals with the thought in mind that there was something missing in our society. All educated and talented in their own unique ways, our team is driven to succeed. We have a mission and we won’t take “no” for an answer.

Why are these services being offered?
Desi Inc felt that the directory approach would be the best way to gather all the South Asian professionals and businesses in the country. There is no directory or service that attempts to unite and create a networking atmosphere for organizations and student associations, while still maintaining a professional environment that does not contain annoying pop-ups and other unwanted content. We want to keep a clean site that offers the services that everyone at some point needs.

What is the company’s history?
The DesiPage team has been dreaming and planning for close to three years now. We’ve realized that something as massive as DesiPage.com does not form overnight. We’ve had our share of losses. We’ve had people come and go. Some believed we wouldn’t make it this far. Those who have stayed knew that it takes time and patience, and there is no such thing as free money in today’s world.

On August 10th, 2002, Desi Inc & ShaadiPlanners hosted a wedding and fashion networking expo at Madison Square Garden. We had over 1,000 people in attendance in and out throughout the day. The day also served as the release of our first publication: ShaadiMagazine. As mentioned above, these early experiences in our company’s development helped us realize what the South Asian community really needs and that we are the ones who will be there to provide it.

What is the future of the DesiPage?
Through the networking aid of SAANO, the South Asian-American Network of Organizations, DesiPage will be uniting all desi organizations in the country. SAANO will be contacting every South Asian oriented organization across the continent, which is estimated to be well over 2,000 to 3,000 in number. We are actively searching for professional individuals to join our SAANO Professional Networks so that we can begin forming action teams (SAATs) in every community. This is a long process, so hang on and join the DesiPage adventure!
